Ascribe Strength To God

We do not praise God enough for His limitless strength. As we think about what our great God has done for us as a Church these 38 years, let’s seek to ascribe strength to Him, as He really deserves.

“Ascribe strength to God;
His excellence is over Israel,
And His strength is in the clouds.”

Psalm 68:34

The Lord God is the source and provider of great spiritual strength. It is from Him and through Him that His people are strengthened and empowered to do great things for Him. The psalmist saw how through God’s strength that His excellent ways can be seen upon His people. King David recognized and appreciated the Lord’s goodness upon His people. He declared that the greatness of the Lord’s strength extends to the clouds and beyond. Truly, His strength is far above what we can ever imagine it to be. As we look forward to a time of celebration, let’s ascribe great strength to Him.

Standing In Awe Of A God Who Gives Strength And Power To His People

“O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places.
The God of Israel is he who gives strength and power to His people. ”

Psalm 68:35

As the psalmist ascribed strength to God, he also stood in awe of Him. He saw how God was more awesome and glorious than the holy places that the people of Israel had. Mount Sinai and Jerusalem were considered places that were sacred and holy by the Israelites. And yet God is far greater than them. He is a God who gives tremendous strength and power to His people. Throughout the history of Israel, the awesome strength and power of God can be traced in definite ways. Kings flee at the presence of the Lord. Enemies scatter when He rises. The Lord had enabled His people to overcome their enemies. The Lord has also given us, Bethany, strength and power to do His work these 38 years. We must stand in awe of our great God of strength.

Giving God All The Glory And Praise

“Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth;
Oh, sing praises to the Lord,
To Him who rides on the heavens, which were of old!”

Psalm 68:32-33

The Psalmist made a call for all the kingdoms of the earth to sing and give glorious praise to our Almighty God. It is He who rules the heavens from the beginning of time, today and forever. Let’s bless the Lord with a depth of appreciation of His great strength. Let’s give Him all the glory as we celebrate 38 years of His great benefits on Bethany.

“Blessed be God.”
Psalm 68:35
