NOT WEARY IN DOING GOOD

The Principle Of Sowing And Reaping

During the week, we received another 10 cartons of Milo meant for the Ju Eng home. It is such a joy to see people wanting to give towards those in need. It speaks of their heart of concern for others. We must not be weary in doing good to others. Sometimes, people may become jaded and discouraged in doing so. They may feel that their efforts have gone to waste. In the light of this, Paul wrote of how it was vital to understand this principle of sowing and reaping.

“Do not be deceived. God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”
Galatians 6:7-8

It was God who gave this principle of sowing and reaping. We cannot snub God or evade this truth principle. When we sow to the flesh, we will reap corruption. If we sow to the things of the Spirit, we will reap a wonderful and God-blessed life. We will most definitely reap what we sow.

The Challenge To Continue In Doing Good

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
Galatians 6:9-10

Paul’s exhortation to the Galatian Church was not to tire in doing good works. They must not lose heart as they serve the Lord. How can we continue in doing good?

1. Exercising Faith In The Principle Of Sowing And Reaping

If this divine universal principle of sowing and reaping truly applies, let’s believe in it. Let’s exercise faith in this universal truth that our efforts will in due season bear fruit. Our faith must lead us to action.

2. Grabbing Opportunities As They Come

The Lord will also bring opportunities along our way for us to do good. Whenever they do come, let’s not allow them to pass us by. Let us, with faith, grab these occasions to help someone in need. In practical terms, let’s seek to give towards those at the Ju Eng home. They need all the support that they can get.

3. Focusing On The Household Of Faith

Paul also wrote of how our efforts to help should be concentrated on the household of faith. We are meant to focus on those who know the Lord. There are our brethren in our IPC circle who need our help. The Burmese brethren are going through tough times. The Indian brethren also need our aid to support the work there. Let’s seek to do good especially to those in our IPC family.
