Is The Kingdom Of God Real To You?

Youth Conference 2006 is just around the corner. Most of us should know by now that the theme for this year’s conference is “Seek first the Kingdom of God”. Young people, how real is the Kingdom of God to us? If it is definitely real to us, how does it translate to real life? It is vital that we find the reality of this fascinating doctrine.

The Work Of The Spirit Of God

“For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking but… the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 14:17

Finding the reality of the kingdom of God is a work that the Spirit of God must do. Paul was writing to the Romans about the problem of stumbling weaker brothers when they ate food that was unclean. He was exhorting them not to focus on the issue of eating and drinking because this was not what the kingdom of God was about. The focus should rather be on what the Spirit of God would do in their lives. The Holy Spirit plays a major part in helping us find the kingdom of God real. Young people, if we want to find the reality of the kingdom of God, we must seek the filling of His Spirit.

Expressions Of Being Part Of The Kingdom Of God

“But righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 14:17

There are three expressions that the Spirit of God will effect in our lives.

1. Positional And Personal Righteousness

We will have righteousness that only God will give. Being part of the Kingdom of God is about having His imputed righteousness given to us. The Spirit of God will also help us to live in personal righteousness.

2. Great Peace In God

A citizen of the Kingdom of God will also obtain a great sense of peace through the Spirit. There will be peace between God and us. His wrath will no longer be on us. There will also be a daily sense of peace within our hearts to go through trials of life.

3. Great Joy In The Kingdom Of God

Most of all, we will find a great sense of joy. It is a joy that the Lord will give when we truly appreciate what it means to be part of His kingdom. Young people, anyone can have this righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If you want to understand and seek all these things and more in the Kingdom of God, come for the Youth Conference 2006 (10-15 December).
