EXTOLLING THE LORD FOR 32 YEARS OF HIS BLESSINGS

Learning To Extol The Lord As Our King

This Saturday, we celebrate 32 years of God’s hand of blessing on us. He has done so much for us. It is most natural that we should extol His name.

“I will extol you, my God, O King;
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You”
Psalm 145:1-2

David recognised the Lord God as truly his King. He was deeply motivated to extol the Lord constantly. The word “extol” means to praise highly. We should exalt the Lord for He is indeed worthy. As we celebrate our anniversary, let’s prepare our heart to extol the Lord as our King.

Reflecting On The Unsearchable Greatness And Majesty Of God

How can we have a heart that is prepared to extol the Lord? We can do this when our hearts and minds are filled with thoughts of the greatness and majesty of God.

“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
And His greatness is unsearchable.”
Psalm 145:3

The Psalmist reflected on the greatness of God’s works. We have seen how God has been upholding Bethany all these years. The Lord has provided for all our needs. He is near to us when we call upon Him in times of need. There is the clear and distinct hand of God in preserving Bethany. She continues to exist and strive because God is our King. Let’s learn to reflect of the majesty of God and His works.

A Deep Appreciation Of The Lord’s Grace And Goodness

“The Lord is gracious and full of compassion,
Slow to anger and great in mercy.
The Lord is good to all,
And His tender mercies are over all His works.”
Psalm 145:8-9

As we ponder over His greatness and majesty, we also must appreciate His graciousness and goodness to us. Bethany has prospered because the Lord’s great goodness and tender mercies have been showered abundantly on us. Let’s never take them for granted. Let’s truly extol the Lord with all our heart and soul.

Two Practical Ways To Extol The Lord

Let’s determine to extol the Lord in the following two ways:

1. Let’s Declare His Greatness With Great Excitement

“And I will declare Your greatness.” 
Psalm 145:6

Let’s be excited about telling others about the Lord and His greatness. Let’s look forward to a wonderful time of speaking of what the Lord has done for Bethany at our anniversary.

2. Let’s Sing Of The Lord With Great Joy

“And shall sing of Your righteousness.”
Psalm 145:7

Let’s also sing with great joy about the Lord and His righteousness. May we look forward to a wonderful time of singing to the Lord. Let’s praise His glorious name with much joy now and always.
