Having A Great Sense Of Urgency To Know God’s Word

The coming judgments of the book of Revelation are far nearer than we think. Often, people think that they are not going to happen soon and they can nonchalantly go about their daily lives. Young people, let’s not sink into such complacency. John wrote in his book that the time of judgment is near and we need to know God’s word.

“For the time is near.”
Revelation 1:3

We do not know when the day of Great Tribulation will come. We do know that it is imminent. It may be sooner than we think. Life as we know it will change when the first seal in the book of Revelation is opened (Revelation 6). We must be prepared for the Lord’s second coming. Young people, do you know God’s word and its future eschatological prophecies well enough? We must seek to know.

The Promise Of Blessing To Those Who Know God’s Word

“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.”
Revelation 1:3

John wrote of the things that one has to do in order to be blessed.

1. Diligently Reading And Knowing The Word

The word “read” means to “to read and to know the subject very well”. Our challenge is to read and study the Scriptures diligently. Blessed is the person who shows deep interest to read and discover the meaning of the prophetic word.

2. Determinedly Hearing The Word

We must also be determined to hear the word of God well. The Spirit of God speaks to us through His word today. Are we seeking to listen to His word?

3. Carefully Keeping The Word

After we have heard and understood the word, we must also seek to keep it. Our challenge is to keep the word of God above all things.

Having Greater Urgency To Come For Church Camp 2010

Reading, hearing and keeping the word… these are some of the things that we are encouraging all to do at this coming Church family camp. We will be learning how to rightly interpret the word of God. In these last days, we must seek to be ready for the Lord’s second coming. Let’s find a greater sense of urgency to know how to read God’s word by coming for this camp. If you have not signed up, please do so by this weekend. Let’s seek to have a sense of urgency in knowing the Scriptures well.
