The Problem Of Compromise

In the end times, one of the greatest problems we will face is “doctrinal compromise”. It is easy for churches to compromise on their Biblical doctrines. When the Lord Jesus spoke to the church at Thyatira, He charged the Church with compromise and corruption. They had allowed a false prophetess to teach wrong things in the Church.

“Nevertheless, I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.” 
Revelation 2:20

This teacher had seduced and deceived the people into idolatrous practices. Whenever we have a tolerance for wrong doctrines, all kinds of false teachings would become accepted views. Obviously, behind these false teachings is the evil one.

“As many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan…” 
Revelation 2:24

Satan is deeply involved in such compromise. We must never allow this to happen to our Church.

Holding Fast To Our Faith

The Lord Jesus told those who did not compromise to hold fast to their faith. He challenged them to be faithful to the end.

“Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. But hold fast what you have till I come. And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations” 
Revelation 2:24-26

The Lord Jesus will return soon. The Church was meant to hold fast to the faith and its ministry till the Lord Jesus comes again. Believers are meant to be overcomers. Yes, there are times when it is hard to stand against the tide of false teaching. However, we must endure and keep our works to the end. If we do this, the Lord will also specially bless us with eternal blessings.

Having A Uncompromising Tough Stand Against False Teachings

How can we have an uncompromising stand against false teachings?

1. Let’s seek to be discerning

We must not allow any form of false teachings to enter into our midst. We must have a discerning mind when it comes to God’s word.

2. Let’s be courageous enough to stand for the truth

We must not be afraid to stand for the truths of the Lord. While others may compromise on their beliefs, we must have the courage to stand for what is right.

3. Let’s have a strong faith to resist that which is evil

The evil one will do all he can to spread his false teachings. Let’s have the strength to resist all that which is evil. Let’s maintain an uncompromising stand against false teachings.
