The Youth Worship message that continues to resonate with me is about the great grace of God. It concerns how Noah found grace in His sight. It is truly amazing to see how the Lord showed abundant grace to the world despite how dreadfully sinful it was.

1. A conundrum of sin

The earth was also corrupt before God…”   Gen. 6:11

During the times of Noah, sin was such an insidious problem that it corrupted the whole earth. It caused people to sin continually. The earth had corrupted its way and people had become resistant and rebellious to the Lord. This was indeed a most perplexing and difficult problem.

2. A complex solution    The giving of His grace

a The Spirit of God at work

The Spirit of the Lord had sought to strive with men (Gen. 6:3). This was part of the Lord’s amazing grace to men. However, this was not indefinite because mankind had to be judged. It was enlightening to hear that Noah was the only person who responded to His grace.

b. Limitation of life

Life was limited to 120 years as part of the solution to sin.

c. His grace on Noah

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”  Gen. 6:8

Noah responded to the message that the Lord God gave to him and he repented of his sins. Grace was given when the Lord spoke to him. Grace was extended further when Noah responded appropriately. Noah was not sinless but he was considered perfect in the light of the state of the sinful world then. He chose to walk with God and he found further grace from the Lord.

My personal response is to be thankful that grace has been given to me so wonderfully and I can repent and be forgiven of all my sins. I can respond to the Lord as I hear His word and to seek His grace even more. My challenge is to seek to find grace to walk with Him.

The Lord also gives His grace to us by reaching out to us. Our part is to respond to the Lord from our heart. As we respond, His grace will be extended further to us. We can find grace to deal with our sin problems. Let’s seek to pray for the Lord’s grace to be with us that we may walk with Him and live for Him.
