Spirit of Faith and Love

In a flash, the much anticipated Youth Conference 2017 has come and gone. The theme for this year’s camp is “The Same Spirit of Faith”, and Pastor has sought to teach the campers what this “spirit of faith” is, what it can do for us and challenged each of us to catch this same spirit of faith.

I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my supplications.” Psalm 116:1

One of the evening messages that Pastor gave, was on the topic on how the spirit of love comes along with the spirit of faith – a love for God and His people. Faith and love go hand in hand.

I have observed this very spirit of faith and spirit of love. They were seen in the kitchen aunties and uncles who faithfully and tirelessly cooked all the meals of camp. There were five meals a day for a total of twenty meals! This photo taken is of one of the meals prepared for afternoon tea – cinnamon buns!

Through the meals lovingly and specially prepared by the kitchen cooks, I saw how the spirit of faith and the spirit of love caught by the kitchen aunties and uncles have led them to serve in this manner, not obligingly but with much love for God and us. It could have been a week where they could have done many other things, but each one has decided to serve at camp in this manner.

Personally, I am challenged to hold on to this “same spirit of faith”. Faith is a journey that one chooses to take, but it is equally important to follow through, and carry on. I too want to be counted among the faithful and to grow in my love for God and His people.

If you have decided to seek, sought, and caught this spirit of faith, may you be encouraged to continue faithfully, knowing that God will be there every step of the way!
