Experiencing God’s Omnipresence

EXPERIENCING GOD’S OMNIPRESENCE

I left Singapore in January 2017 for an exchange program in Bristol, United Kingdom. During the 3-week Easter vacation, I had the opportunity to visit various parts of Europe. This picture was taken along the shoreline of Nice, France, which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea.

Before I embarked on this 6-month journey overseas, one of the greatest fears that I had was being away from the familiarity of home and Bethany. There were many occasions I would ask myself, ‘What would my faith be like?’. However, I would soon come to realize that the fears I had stemmed from a very self-centered heart.

Four months in, I have come to experience God’s presence in my life so much more! The Lord has provided comfort, guidance and protection during my times of need. What He provided certainly exceeded whatever fears I had! My heart echoes with the words of David in Psalm 139:9-10, which reads:

“If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.”

My fears are allayed because I am convinced of the Lord’s omnipresence in my life! He is truly with me wherever I go. While I still miss the environment of home very much, my heart has found home in the Lord. Truly, wherever I am, even in the uttermost parts of the sea, the Lord is always there!
