Every morning can be a good morning

A crucial part of each day is the morning. How we begin the day in the morning matters as it is always wonderful to start the day on a good note. If we were to prepare our heart for the day, we may face better whatever challenges that come our way.

If we were to start the day with God, then every morning can be a good morning. We need not have to start the day feeling down and dragging our feet. The Lord can make a difference as to how we can start each morning. We can focus our thoughts on the Lord and be greatly blessed by Him. Let us be challenged to make each morning a good one.

One thing to focus on in the morning

There are different aspects of God that we can focus on. But David wrote of focusing on the lovingkindness of God in the mornings.

“O God, You are my God; early will I see You … because Your lovingkindness is better than life.” (Psalm 63:1,2)

“To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning.” (Psalm 92:2)

“Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning for in You do I trust.” (Psalm 143:8)

No matter what he was going through, David began the day focusing on the lovingkindness of God. It was something that David did each morning. Let’s be encouraged to dwell upon the lovingkindness of God too.

Reason for this focus

The lovingkindness of God is seen as His great love being expressed in His kindness towards us. It is an expression of His love. There were various reasons for David’s continued focus on the lovingkindness of God. It was through the Lord’s lovingkindness that his life was blessed … from being a poor shepherd boy to being King. When David was in the wilderness running away from King Saul, it was God’s lovingkindness that kept and protected him. God’s lovingkindness was also seen in the works that God had done for him. Let us be challenged to also consider the lovingkindness of God in our lives as we begin each morning.

Setting our heart for the day

When we ponder on the lovingkindness of God, how should we respond? “It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare your lovingkindness in the morning.” (Psalm 92:1,2) We should take time in the morning to give thanks to the Lord. We should be encouraged to give praise to the name of the Lord. Let’s be challenged to take time each morning to start the day with the Lord … pondering over His lovingkindness. Let us seek to give thanks and praise … to set our heart on the right note to start the day.
