A great Easter weekend

We thank God for another wonderful Easter weekend that culminated with our celebrations in Shangri La. It was a great time of worship as we gave praise to God for our risen Lord. The word of God preached was truly life giving to many.

Such an experience should not be easily forgotten. It would be good for us to take time to reflect and ponder over what we have heard concerning the word of God and the experience that we have had. When we take time to reflect, we would be able to apply the word of God more significantly in our life.

Discovering our destiny

At the Post Camp meeting last Saturday, Pastor Charles taught further about our destiny. He related our destiny to pre-destination. I thought that was a great way of looking at our destiny and there were two things that struck a chord with me.

1. The plans of God

From the example of Jeremiah, Pastor spoke of pre-destination as the will of God. As God had predestined Jeremiah to be prophet even though he started out as a priest (Jeremiah 1), He also has a plan for each one of us….a destiny that is predestined for us. As much as I’ve discovered what God’s plan has been for me these last 20 years, I am also asking myself what is my destiny for the next 20 years. Let us all seek to discover God’s plans for us.

2. The power of God

What struck me even more was that as much as God pre-destined us with His will, along with the plans will come His power. Part of the God’s pre-destination is the power to fulfil it. This was a wonderful thought concerning predestination. I always thought that pre-destination was only about the plans of God. It is encouraging to know that with His plans, there is His power made available. Let us seek to experience God’s power as we endeavor to fulfill God’s planned destiny for our lives.

The great example of the Lord Jesus

As I reflected over the Easter weekend, I saw the Lord Jesus as a wonderful example of understanding and fulfilling one’s destiny. Through the Scriptures, He knew exactly what He came to do on this earth and God gave Him the power to do it. (Isaiah 42:1) He came to give life and to give it more abundantly. (John 10:10) He came to die for the world that they may know the love of God. (John 3:16) Let us be challenged by the great example of the Lord Jesus who knew His destiny and was able to fulfill it by the power of God.

A personal search

Have we discovered our destiny in life? There is every possibility for us to know what the destiny of our life is. We were glad for Camille who was specially consecrated to serve the Lord in the full time ministry on Easter. She is slowly discovering her destiny and is seeking to fulfil it.

Let us embark on our own personal search for the destiny that God has pre-destined us to do. Let us continue to grow in knowledge and faith that we may be able to discover God’s plans for us and to fulfill them by the power of God.
