Psalm 145

RELATING FAITH TO DAILY LIFE

1. Praising God                    Psalm 145:1-4

a) Extolling God

“I will extol You, my God, O King”   Psalm 145:1a

b) Blessing/Praising God’s name

“And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.”       Psalm 145:1-2

2. Reasons for praise

a) The greatness of God’s Being

“Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised;
And His greatness is unsearchable.”                        Psalm 145:3

b) The acts of God

“One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts”                        Psalm 145:4

3. Response

a) Personal

“I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty,
And on Your wondrous works”                                Psalm 145:5

b) General (anticipated)

“One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts”                        Psalm 145:4

“Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts…”      Psalm 145:6

“They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness,
