A. A DEEP AFFECTION FOR THE HOUSE OF GOD BEGINS WITH A DEEP AFFECTION FOR GOD HIMSELF

1. David’s Knowledge (Theology) of God lay the foundation of a deep affection for God

1. Appropriate humility

a) Who am I, O LORD God?
b) And what is my house?

2. Appropriate depth of understanding

a) And yet this is a small thing in Your sight, O God            1 Chronicles 17:17a
b) And You have also spoken of Your servant’s house for a great while to come            1 Chronicles 17:17b
c) And have regarded me according to the rank of a man of high degree, O LORD God            1 Chronicles 17:17c
d) What more can David say to You for the honour of Your servant?            1 Chronicles 17:18
