1. The place of God in the life and ministry of the spiritual leader

4. The place of prayer in the life of the leader

a) All the questions of Moses were brought to God in prayer

b) He must master the spiritual discipline of prayer

ii) Listening to God as He answers

iii) Progressive prayer

iv) Perseverance in prayer

v) Intercessory prayer

vi) Increased knowledge of God through experience in prayer

5. The Employment of the Mind

a) The questions of Moses reflect the utility of the mind

6. The work of God in the making of a spiritual leader

7. Challenges to the leaders of today

c) Challenge to be consecrated to serve the Lord

8. God at work in and through His servants

a) Apostleship

For He who worked effectively in Peter for the apostleship to the circumcised also worked effectively in me toward the Gentiles.

Galatians 2:8

b) Ambassadors for Christ

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

2 Corinthians 5:20

c) Earthen vessels… manifesting the power and life of the Lord Jesus

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us… For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
