THE GENTILES
Romans 9:30

1. They did not pursue righteousness

2. But they have attained to righteousness

3. Even the righteousness of faith

ISRAEL
Romans 9:31

1. Pursuing the law of righteousness

2. Has not attained to the law of righteousness

WHY DID ISRAEL ATTAIN RIGHTEOUSNESS?
Romans 9:32

1. They did not seek it by faith

2. They sought to attain righteousness by the works of the law

3. They stumbled at the stumbling stone

AS IT IS WRITTEN
Romans 9:33; Psalm 118:22; Isaiah 8:14; 28:16

1. Behold, I lay in Zion

2. A stumbling stone

3. And a rock of offence

THE ROCK

1. The Rock was the Messiah ( The Christ)

a) Prophecy
b) Place of Christ

2. Those who reject

a) They are stumbled
b) They will stumble and fall

3. Those who believe

a) Through faith
b) They will attain righteousness
c) They will not be ashamed/ stumble
