THE WORLD TO COME

1. It is not in subjection to angels (Hebrews 2:5a)

2. It will be given to the Son of Man (Hebrews 2:7=8)

THE TESTIMONY OF PSALM 8

1. God’s testimony (Hebrews 2:6a)

2. Man

a) What is man that You are mindful of him (Hebrews 2:6b)
b) Or the son of man that You take care of him (Hebrews 2:6c)
c) You made him a little lower than the angels (Hebrews 2:7a)

3. The Son of Man (in the original Psalm 8 context)

a) You have crowned him with glory and honour (Hebrews 2:7b)
b) And set him over the works of Your hands (Hebrews 2:7c)
c) You have put all things in subjection under his feet (Hebrews 2:8a)
d) He left nothing that is not put under him (Hebrews 2:8b)
e) But we do not yet see all things put under him (Hebrews 2:8c)

4. But we see Jesus
Application of Psalm 8 to Jesus:

a) He was made a little lower than the angels (Hebrews 2:9a)
b) For the suffering of death (Hebrews 2:9b)
c) Crowned with glory honour (Hebrews 2:9c)

5. The death of Christ Jesus

a) By the grace of God (Hebrews 2:9d)
b) That He might taste death for every one (Hebrews 2:9e)
c) He hast taken the sting of death
d) His death had far-reaching effects
