GOD’S APPEARANCE

1. At the Tabernacle

2. Before all the children of Israel   (Numbers 14:10)

GOD’S WORD TO MOSES

1. Rejection

How long will these people reject Me?   (Numbers 14:11)

2. Unbelief

How long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I had performed among them?   (Numbers 14:11)

3. Threat

a) I will strike them with the pestilence
b) And disinherit them   (Numbers 14:12)

4. Promise

a) I will make you a nation
b) Great and mightier than they   (Numbers 14:12)

RESPONSE OF MOSES

a) The Egyptians
Then the Egyptians will hear it, for by Your might You brought these people u up from among them   (Numbers 14:13)
b) Other inhabitants
And they will tell it to the other inhabitants of this land   (Numbers 14:13)
c) Fame of God
i) They have heard that You, LORD, are among these people;
ii) That You, LORD, are seen face to face
iii) And Your cloud stands above them
iv) And You go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night   (Numbers 14:14)
d) The nations
i) Now if you kill these people as one man
ii) The nations which have heard of Your fame will speak
iii) Because the LORD was not able to bring these people to the land which He swore to give to them, therefore He killed them in the wilderness   (Numbers 14:15-16)
e) The greatness of God’s power and mercy
i) And now, I pray, let the power of the LORD be great, just as You have spoken
ii) The LORD is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression;
iii) But He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations
iv) Pardon the iniquity of this people, I pray, according to the greatness of Your mercy,
v) Just as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.   (Numbers 14:17-19)

GOD’S REPLY TO MOSES

1. Pardon

a) I have pardoned
b) According to your word   (Numbers 14:20)

2. Those who reject the Lord

a) They certainly shall not see the land
b) Those who rejected Me   (Numbers 14:21-23)
3. Caleb and Joshua   (Numbers 14:24, 30)
