Text: Psalm 105:37-45

“HE BROUGHT OUT HIS PEOPLE WITH JOY”

 

(I) GOD’S RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS PEOPLE

1. A covenant-relationship

a) God gave a covenant to Abraham (Psalm 105:9a)

b) He confirmed it with an oath to Isaac (Psalm 105:9b)

c) He further confirmed it as a statute with Jacob (Psalm 105:10a)


2. An everlasting covenant-relationship

a) It was confirmed as an everlasting covenant (Psalm 105:10b)

b) He will always remember His covenant (Psalm 105:8, 42)


3. He calls Israel

a) His people (Psalm 105:43)

b) His chosen ones (Psalm 105:43)

 

(II) GOD IS COMMITTED TO THIS COVENANT-RELATIONSHIP

1. Provision

He will provide for His people (Psalm 105:11)


2. Protection

He will protect His anointed ones (Psalm 105:15)


3. Powerful deliverance

a) He will send His servants

b) Through them He will bring forth deliverance (Psalm 105:17, 26)

 

(III) GOD DESIRES TO GIVE JOY TO HIS PEOPLE

1. He will create that gladness of heart (Psalm 105:43)

2. He will lead them and give them joy (Psalm 105:43)

3. He will provide abundantly (Psalm 105:44)

 

(IV) APPROPRIATE RESPONSE

1. To stand in awe of the Lord our God

2. To learn how to relate better to the Lord

3. To cultivate a greater faith in Him

4. To love Him even more

5. To praise Him always
