FORTY YEARS OF MINISTRY

Moses had devoted 40 years of his life in serving the Lord. His focus was well-stated in the following text:

Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak;

And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

Let my teaching drop as the rain,

My speech distill as the dew,

As raindrops on the tender herb,

And as showers on the grass.     Deuteronomy 32:1-2

  1. Confidence of Moses in speaking

a) He addressed “heaven” and “earth”

b) He would “speak” to them with “the words of his mouth”

b) It was “his speech”

  1. Comparisons made

GOD AS A TEACHER

It was the LORD Himself who told Moses that He would personally teach him.

Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do.     Exodus 4:15

  1. Moses had declared the following things to God:

a) “I am not eloquent”

b) “I am slow of speech”

c) “And slow of tongue”     Exodus 4:10

  1. God’s response

a) I will be with your mouth and with his mouth

b) I will teach you what you shall do     Exodus 4:15

God patiently taught Moses all that he needed to know and to do as His servant!

AN EXCELLENT TEACHER

No one could have asked for a more excellent Teacher! Moses did his part well.

  1. He listened well
  1. He comprehended
  1. He complied with all that God said to him

He went on to become a skilled teacher of God’s word. His knowledge of God was vast and deep!  The challenge is to learn well even as the Lord teaches!
