COMPASSION ON HIS SERVANTS
Text: Deuteronomy 32

A LONG LIST OF SINS
Moses listed a long list of sins of the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 32. The following may be highlighted:
- Forsaking the Lord Deuteronomy 32:15
- Scornfully esteemed Him Deuteronomy 32:15
- Turning to idolatry Deuteronomy 32:16-17
- Forgetting God Deuteronomy 32:18
- Perverse children Deuteronomy 32:20
- No understanding Deuteronomy 32:28
WARNING FROM THE LORD
God graciously warned the children of Israel concerning Divine judgment.
- They would be spurned by God Deuteronomy 32:19
- He would hide His face Deuteronomy 32:20
- Divine anger Deuteronomy 32:21-22
- Disasters Deuteronomy 32:23-24
i) Pestilence
ii) Destruction
COMPASSION OF GOD
Despite the many sins of the children of Israel, the Lord would still show them His lovingkindness and tender mercies!
“For the Lord will judge His people
And have compassion on His servants,
When He sees that their power is gone,
And there is no one remaining, bond or free. Deuteronomy 32:36
- Divine Judgment
a) This will occur
b) God has to judge because of His divine laws
- Compassion promised
a) He will still show compassion to His servants
b) He knows that the children of Israel had come to the end of their powers
APPRECIATING GOD AFRESH
Let us appreciate the Lord for who He is. Let us draw nearer to Him in both awe and appreciation! It is amazing that despite all our sins, He would still show compassion.
