THE SENSES THAT GOD HAS GIVEN US

When God made us, He created us with many senses. Scientifically, they are classified as (sight, smell, hearing, taste and touch). They are all related. Does the Bible mention these things? Of course!

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE ARE “SENSLESS?”

Psalm 92 offers an important insight when we are “senseless.”

O LORD, how great are Your works!

Your thoughts are very deep.

A senseless person does not know

Nor does a fool understand this.     Psalm 92:5-6

  1. The works of God

a) They are great indeed!

b) The works of God are never shallow

c) There is depth in everything that God does

  1. A senseless person

a) He may claim “knowledge”

b) But can knowledge be obtained only intellectually?

c) The person who is senseless:

i)   He has not learned how to use his senses well

ii)  He cannot claim knowledge fully if he is senseless

  1. A fool

a) The senseless person is also described as a fool

b) He will never be able to have full understanding

c) Yet, he may claim that using the senses that God has created is wrong

THE GLADNESS THAT GOD HAS GIVEN

God has given us senses so that we may appreciate His blessings more fully.

For You, LORD, have made me glad through

Your work;

I will triumph in the works of Your hands.     Psalm 92:4

  1. You have made me glad

a) Is the LORD Himself who makes us glad

b) Gladness is a deep and joyous feeling

  1. I will triumph in the works of Your hands

a) Triumph will come when we see how the Lord works in our life

b) God’s work is not limited to giving us knowledge

c) God’s work is in every aspect of our life

i)   Our mind

ii)  Our heart

iii) Our soul

iv) All our senses can be greatly heightened to understand God

LET US LOOK FORWARD TO LEARNING MORE ABOUT GLORY

There is so much to learn about the glory of God. Let us never limit ourselves to what we may about the LORD!
