COMMITTED TO PRAYING

The Apostle Paul stood out in more ways than one! Praying for people was one of the most moving features of his life.

Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith

In the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,

Do not cease to give thanks for you,

Making mention of you in my prayers,

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,

The Father of glory, may give to you

The Spirit of wisdom and revelation

In the knowledge of Him.     Ephesians 1:15-17

1. The Ephesian Church

b) Their love for the saints was outstanding

2. Prayer of Thanksgiving

a) It was marked by thanksgiving

b) It was heart-felt

c) It was spontaneous

d) Prayer was a never-ceasing activity of Paul

3. What praying reflects

a) Prayer was never superficial to Paul

b) His prayer for the Ephesians reflected the following truths: –

i) His discernment of the needs of the Ephesians

ii) His faith in the Lord

4. Essential things to pray about

a) To have wisdom

b) To have revelation (deep understanding) of the knowledge we have in Christ

5. The ministry of the Spirit of God

a) Only He can give that wisdom and revelation

b) Thus, every prayer must be offered

i) Humbly

ii) Earnestly

Let us seek to emulate the example of the Lord Jesus Christ!
