I WILL REMEMBER YOU

Text: Psalm 42

THE MIGHTY WORKS OF GOD

God has indeed performed many mighty works! They were carefully recorded in the Scriptures. God’s works may also be seen in our life if we would take the time to note them carefully.

HOW MAY WE APPLY THIS DOCTRINE IN OUR LIFE?

Psalms 42 and 43 teach us how we may apply the doctrine of the Word of God in our life.

O my God, my soul is cast down within me;
Therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan,
And from the heights of Hermon, from the Hill Mizar.

Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls;
All Your waves and billows have gone over me.

The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,
And in the night His song shall be with me-
A prayer to the God of my life.              Psalm 42:6-8

1. In the rough patches of life

a) Depicted in this text as “waves and billows”

b) The picture is that of a ship caught in a storm that threatens to overwhelm

2. When the soul feels cast down

a) This can happen

b) But we can turn things around. We can triumph against all odds

3. Applying vital truths in our life

a) Take time to remember God

i) From good and happy memories

ii) These memories may vary

iii) But these memories of God’s blessings will stand us in good stead

b) Exercise faith

i) That God will command His lovingkindness to be outpoured into our life

ii) And that in the night seasons, God will give us a song in the night

iii) This song in the night can become our prayer to the Lord

THANK GOD FOR HIS MANY MIGHTY WORKS

There is so much to thank God for. Recall His many mighty works in our life. Let us find renewed strength and hope.

1. Sing your way through the dark nights

2. Pray through the dark nights till the day dawns with new hope
