IT IS GOOD TO GIVE THANKS

A HEART FULL OF THANKSGIVING
Our hearts should be filled with thanksgiving as we celebrate Bethany’s 40 +1 Anniversary. This spirit of thanksgiving is not shallow but can be very deep and meaningful. The Lord has graciously blessed Bethany for yet another year!
GIVING THANKS TO GOD
Let us learn how to give expression to the joy that we feel deep within us.
It is good to give thanks to the LORD,
And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High.
To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning,
And Your faithfulness every night. Psalm 92:1-2
1. Great Challenges
a) To give thanks to the Lord
b) To sing praises to His name
c) To declare His lovingkindness and faithfulness to us
2. We have a great God
a) He is rightly called “The LORD”
b) His Name is truly “Most High”
3. Two special blessings to be noted
a) His lovingkindness
b) His faithfulness
GOD AS THE GIVER OF JOY
How do we actually cultivate a strong spirit of joy? The Psalmist gives us this challenging word.
For You, LORD, have made me glad through Your work;
I will triumph in the works of Your hands. Psalm 92:4
1. The Lord
a) He is the One who gives gladness to the heart
b) The cultivation of our spirit is a special work of the Lord
c) How wonderful it is to know that God is involved in cultivating a special spirit of joy in our heart
2. I will triumph in the works of Your hands
a) There is every reason to rejoice
b) The Lord can help us be triumphant in our life
c) The Lord can help us become triumphant
Let us pray for a strong spirit of thanksgiving in our life!
