KNOWING GOD BETTER

1. Can we know God better?

2. We can follow the example of the Psalmist David

a. He already knew God
b. He had even read God’s Word before
c. But he was looking for something deeper

3. David sought to understand the glory of God

a. He looked to the heavens
b. He looked once again into the Word
c. He meditated over what he had learned

THE FEAR OF GOD

“The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever”   Psalm 19:9

1. What will we find as we seek to know God better?

2. The fear of God

a. Reverence as we stand in awe of His glory
b. Humble recognition of who are before God
i. We are but sinners
ii. Full of errors
iii. Including secret faults
c. Responding to God, asking for:
i. Forgiveness
ii. Cleansing

THE FRUIT OF IT ALL

1. There is great reward in fearing the Lord   (Psalm 19:11)

a. His favor
b. His blessings

2. We can be blameless and innocent of great transgression   (Psalm 19:13)

3. We may be found acceptable in God’s sight   (Psalm 19:14)
