“KEEP THIS COMMANDMENT WITHOUT SPOT”
(I) THE DANGERS THAT CONFRONT
1. False teachings (1 Timothy 6:3)
2. Covetousness (1 Timothy 6:9-10)
a) Desire to be rich
b) Many harmful snares
c) The love of money is the root of all evil
(II) THE CHALLENGE TO KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD
1. To find contentment in the heart (1 Timothy 6:6-8)
2. To flee the things which are worldly and that can ensnare (1 Timothy 6:11)
3. To pursue that which has eternal significance (1 Timothy 6:11)
a) Righteousness
b) Godliness
c) Faith
d) Love
e) Patience
f) Gentleness
4. To fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12)
a) To lay hold of eternal life
b) To be true to God’s calling
5. To keep God’s commandment (1 Timothy 6:14)
a) Without spot
b) Blameless
c) Till Christ returns
6. Guard that which is committed (1 Timothy 6:20)
a) The faith
b) The knowledge
(III) MAKING A STRONG COMMITMENT
1. To give heed
a) To learn
b) To practise
c) To cultivate
2. To be faithful and true
a) To keep
b) To defend
c) To fight the good fight
d) To succeed
