“THE LIVING GOD IS AMONG YOU”
(I) GOD AMONG HIS PEOPLE
1. A special promise
“And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.” Exodus 25:8
2. A precious promise understood and appreciated
“If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here” Exodus 33:15
“For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight,
except You go with us?” Exodus 33:16
(II) A GLORIOUS MIRACLE
1. Context
a) Crossing the River Jordan (Joshua 3)
b) The parting of the River Jordan (Joshua 3:15-17)
2. Challenges
a) To the priests who bore the Ark of the Covenant (Joshua 3:3, 6, 8)
b) To the children of Israel (Joshua 3:3-5)
(III) A SPECIAL WORD FROM GOD
1. He will begin to exalt Joshua before the children of Israel (Joshua 3:7)
2. As He was with Moses, so He will be with Joshua (Joshua 3:7)
(IV) A CHALLENGE TO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL
1. To hear the word of the Lord (Joshua 3:9)
2. To know that the Living God is among them (Joshua 3:10)
3. To believe that He will help them conquer the land (Joshua 3:10)
