GOD IS THE STRENGTH OF MY HEART

a. Our physical and emotional strength can fail
b. But God never fails

DISCOURAGEMENTS THAT ARISE FROM THE STRUGGLES OF LIFE

1. Life’s circumstances (External)

“But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled…”   Psalm 73:2

2. Personal circumstances (Internal)

“For all day long I have been plagued…”   Psalm 73:14

3. Consequences

a. Discouragement
“It was too painful for me”   Psalm 73:16
b. Misgivings
“Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain”   Psalm 73:13

DRAWING STRENGTH FROM GOD

1. From the sanctuary of God

“Until I went into the sanctuary of God…”   Psalm 73:17a
a. Both a physical and spiritual sanctuary
b. A deeper understanding of God

2. From God

a. He holds us
“You hold me by my right hand”   Psalm 73:23b
b. He guides us
“You will guide me with Your counsel”   Psalm 73:24a
c. He will receive us
“And afterward receive me to glory”   Psalm 73:24b

RESPONDING TO CHOOSE GOD AS OUR STRENGTH
