"It shall happen that it will be light"

Text: Zechariah 14:6

SPECIAL SIGNS

There were a number of special signs that have been predicted:

1. The creation of a Mountain Valley (Zechariah 14:4)

2. The appearance of “holy ones” (saints/ angels) {Zechariah 14:5}

This would be the “hosts” who would come with the LORD.

ANOTHER SIGN

This was yet another sign that would occur.

“It shall come to pass in that day
That there will be no light;
The lights will diminish.
It shall be one day
Which is known to the LORD—
Neither day nor night.
But at evening time it shall happen
That it will be light.”
Zechariah 14:6-7

1. “No light”

a) The lights refer to the sun, moon and stars.

b) They would begin to diminish.

c) They would then cease to give light (this would have cataclysmic consequences).

d) Darkness would prevail.

2. “Light”

a) God would bring about Light.

b) What that Light is, we are not able to determine exactly.

c) We are reminded of the Creation Story.

i) There was darkness.

ii) Then God spoke “Let there be light”, and there was light (Genesis 1:3).

d) When that would actually happen is known only to the LORD.
