Day 142

"Then you shall flee through My mountain valley"

Text: Zechariah 14:5

SPECIAL DELIVERANCE

The LORD will bring about a special and miraculous deliverance for His people.

“Then you shall flee through My mountain valley,
For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal.
Yes, you shall flee
As you fled from the earthquake
In the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
Thus the LORD my God will come,
And all the saints with You.”
Zechariah 14:5

1. “My mountain valley”

a) This was specially created (Zechariah 14:4).
This was called “My mountain valley”.
b) The remnant will escape from the war carnage through this Valley.

2. “Azal”

a) The actual location is not known exactly.
b) But it would be a safe place, a haven for those who flee from Jerusalem.

3. “The earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah”

a) This was not noted in the Scriptures.
b) However, this was noted by Josephus, a Jewish historian.
c) In his book, Antiquities of the Jews, Josephus noted the following:
i) King Uzziah entered into the temple to make an offering.
ii) He was resisted by the temple priests.
iii) God struck him with leprosy.
iv) An earthquake occurred that buried the king’s garden.
v) The locale that was spared was called Azal.

4. “The LORD my God will come, and all the saints with You”

In this context, the word “saints” (“holy ones”) could be a reference to the angels of God.
