"The Spirit of grace and supplication"

Text: Zechariah 12:10

A VERY SPECIAL WORK OF GOD

This prophecy has not been fulfilled yet. Thus, this must be a reference to a special work that God would do in the future.

“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem
the Spirit of grace and supplication;
then they will look on Me whom they pierced.
Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son,
and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.”
Zechariah 12:10

CONVICTION THAT COMES FROM THE SPIRIT OF GOD

There is a special work of the Holy Spirit that Jesus mentioned (John 16:8-11). That special ministry of the Spirit of God would be evidenced when He is outpoured on the inhabitants of Jerusalem. A glimpse of that work may be seen when the Apostle Peter preached in Jerusalem after he and his brethren were filled with the Spirit (Acts 2:37-39).
