"Be diligent to come to me..."

Text: Titus 3:12

A PERSONAL NOTE

The epistles of the Apostle Paul often contained personal notes. Some scholars attempt to distinguish between the epistles and letters that Paul wrote. They point out that the latter tend to have “personal notes” such as this.

“When I send Artemas to you, or Tychicus,
be diligent to come to me at Nicopolis,
for I have decided to spend the winter there.
Send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey
with haste, that they may lack nothing.”
Titus 3:12-13

ii) Tychicus

c) There were other teams of which the following members may be mentioned.
i) Silas

2. A personal word to Titus

a) Paul wrote about his winter plans.
b) He would be at Nicopolis (a city in ancient Greece).
c) Titus was urged to meet up with Paul there.

3. Zenas and Apollos

a) Titus was to attend to the needs of Zenas and Apollos.
b) Being the minister at Crete Titus may have been able to look after some of the needs of these two fellow labourers.
c) Titus was urged to diligently and urgently assist them in every way he could.

Then would their ministry not be hindered in any way!
