 PAUL’S PERSONAL VIEW OF ISRAEL II

Paul’s view of Israel must be given careful consideration! Let us continue our study of how he understood the history of the Jews.

1. The Service of God

This is a reference to the Tabernacle/Temple services. The worship of Israel was second to none.

2. The Promises

a) Promises to the patriarchs
b) Promises through the prophets
c) Some outstanding promises
i) Promise of Canaan
ii) Promise of forgiveness
iii) Promise of God’s presence
iv) Promise of restoration

3. Of whom are the fathers

a) The patriarchs
b) Outstanding individuals:-
i) The Royal line of David
ii) The prophets of ancient Israel/Judah
iii) Godly individuals

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF ALL THAT ISRAEL HELD DEAR

The above were things that Israel held dear! Paul had no problems with any of the above. He showed that he was in full agreement and appreciation of the rich history of Israel.
