Day 42 – Psalm 94

“He who instructs the nations, shall He not correct…” Psalm 94:10a

GOD IS FAR MORE INVOLVED THAN IS REALISED

We learn much about the psalmist as we read Psalm 94. Two things stand out about him:-

1. He was a man of prayer.

2. He was a man of courage.

“He who instructs the nations, shall He not correct,
He who teaches man knowledge?
The LORD knows the thoughts of man,
That they are futile.”
Psalm 94:10-11

1. God as a Teacher of man

a) This is also the understanding of Isaiah.
i) God teaches the farmer (Isaiah 28:23-29).
ii) God is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance (Isaiah 28:29).
iii) What man terms as “experience”, Isaiah insists that God was the One teaching man!
b) God instructs:-
i) The nations
ii) The individual
iii) And in the process of teaching, He will correct His errant pupils.

2. God knows the thoughts of man

a) He knows by virtue of His being God Omniscient.
b) His evaluation of the thoughts of man.
i) The thoughts of the wicked are “vain”.
ii) The wicked may think that they will have the upper hand.
iii) All their plans will be in vain when God judges them.
