A THEOLOGICAL LINK

As we read Psalms 74-75 we will realize that there is a theological link between the two psalms. Whereas Psalm 74 seemed to be bereft of answers from God, Psalm 75 offered vital answers to the questions Asaph raised.

THANKSGIVING

Asaph began Psalm 75 on a high thanksgiving note. The answers that God gave brought forth this spirit of gratitude and joy.

“We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks!
For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near.”
Psalm 75:1

1. “We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks”

a) Whereas Psalm 74 saw the psalmist pleading with God to answer his prayers.
b) Psalm 75 begins with great thanksgiving.

2. “For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near”

God was not silent and far away after all! God’s name was near and dear to His people. His wondrous works would testify that He is a God who hears and answers prayer.
