Day 44 – Psalm 74

“The day is Yours, the night also is Yours…” Psalm 74:16a

GOD AS CREATOR

The psalmist obviously drew much comfort and strength through dwelling on God as Creator.

“The day is Yours, the night also is Yours;
You have prepared the light and the sun.
You have set all the borders of the earth;
You have made summer and winter.”
Psalm 74:16-17

1. Belief in God as Creator

a) This was certainly established.

b) There was strong belief that God did the following things:-

i) He made the day.

ii) He also made the night.

iii) He created light.

iv) He also created the sun.

v) He made the earth and all its borders (the sea and the land).

vi) He made the summer.

vii) He also made the winter (and all the other seasons, though not listed specifically).

2. Belief in the attributes of God

a) His almighty strength.

b) His infinite wisdom.

c) His awesome keeping of the earth.

3. Belief applied to tough situations experienced in life

a) The psalmist held on to his faith in God amidst great anguish felt.

b) He refused to yield his faith in God to unbelief.

c) He tenaciously clung to his faith in an Almighty God who was his King from of old.
