“Let heaven and earth praise Him…” Psalm 69:34a

EVERY REASON TO PRAISE GOD

Psalm 69 concludes on a great note of praise! There was every reason to praise the Lord.

“Let heaven and earth praise Him,
The seas and everything that moves in them.
For God will save Zion and build the cities of Judah,
That they may dwell there and possess it.
Also, the descendants of His servants shall inherit it,
And those who love His name shall dwell in it.”
Psalm 69:34-36

1. A great call to praise God issued to:-

a) Heaven

b) Earth

c) Seas

2. Reasons for this great call to praise God:-

a) God will save Zion from all her enemies.

b) God will build the cities of Judah.

i) This was prophetically uttered.

ii) This will be fulfilled in its fullness in the reign of the Messiah.

c) Inheritance of the Promised Land.

i) This was God’s Promise to Abraham (Genesis 12-22).

ii) This was fulfilled in the days of Joshua (See Book of Joshua).

iii) Israel was disinherited because of rank apostasy (2 Kings 17, 24).

iv) Israel returned in the days of Ezra and Nehemiah (Ezra, Nehemiah).

v) All who love the Lord’s name, even if they are only humble servants will see their descendants dwell in the Promised Land.
