“Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy!” Psalm 67:4a

EXTENSION OF THOUGHT

David extended his thought about nations knowing God’s salvation in the following text.

“Let the peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.

Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy!
For You shall judge the people righteously,
And govern the nations on earth.”
Psalm 67:3-4

1. “Let the peoples praise You, O God”

a) This was a strong desire.
b) The strength of this desire sees David repeating this phrase twice over in the same verse.

2. “Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy”

a) Praise and singing are tied together.
b) The important elements include:-
i) Gladness
ii) Joy
c) Inspiration of this praise
i) Experience of God’s salvation.
ii) Experience of God’s blessings.

3. God’s continued relationship with the nations of the earth

a) He will judge the world righteously.
b) He will govern the nations on earth.
c) This will be effectively fulfilled when the Lord established His millennial kingdom on earth one day.
