“Trust in Him at all times…” Psalm 62:8a
A FAITH WORTH SHARING
David possessed a faith that he treasured. However, he was also conscious of the fact that not all could say they had a similar kind of faith. David was committed to composing great songs of praise to God, he was also desirous of sharing his faith with others.
A WORD OF EXHORTATION
Faith is not easily acquired. A word of exhortation often goes a long way to encourage people to find faith in God.
“Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us.”
Psalm 62:8
1. “Trust in Him at all times, you people”
a) This was a general word of exhortation to all (“People”).
b) Trust was encouraged. Three aspects may be noted:-
i) Initial trust
ii) Continued trust
iii) At all times
2. “Pour out your heart before Him”
a) Prayer was enjoined.
b) Pouring out of the heart is an excellent way of praying.
3. “God is a refuge for us”
a) The thought of God as a refuge must be understood in conjunction with what David had earlier described about Him.
i) He is a Rock.
ii) He will bring about salvation.
iii) He is our Defense.
b) For us
This was David’s way of helping all to find God very real and personal!
