WAITING UPON THE LORD

David began the writing of Psalm 62 on a pensive note. He was conscious that he would have to wait on the Lord even as he prayed.

“Truly my soul silently waits for God;
From Him comes my salvation.”
Psalm 62:1

1. “Truly my soul silently waits for God”

a) This was a spiritual discipline that David had cultivated in his life.
b) The new word added is that he now waits “silently” rather than with a great sense of fear and foreboding.

2. “From Him comes my salvation”

There was a special sense of hope and anticipation concerning the salvation (“deliverance”) that he believed God would give him.
