Day 152 – Psalm 54
“For He has delivered me out of all trouble…” Psalm 54:7
GOD’S DELIVERANCE
David prayed for deliverance from his enemies. He faced certain death if King Saul ever captured him. The circumstances he was in was desperate, to say the least.
“For He has delivered me out of all trouble;
And my eye has seen its desire upon my enemies.”
Psalm 54:7
1. The enemies of David
a) King Saul was his fiercest enemy then.
b) The Philistines had been Israel’s enemy and thus David’s enemy by default.
c) New enemies:-
i) Keilah
ii) Ziph
2. “For He has delivered me out of all trouble”
a) David was in serious trouble.
b) He and all his followers were in danger of being killed.
c) There seemed no escape this time from King Saul and the Ziphites.
d) But God miraculously delivered David out of all his troubles (1 Samuel 23).
3. “And my eye has seen its desire upon my enemies”
a) This does not necessarily mean death to the enemies.
b) David would have liked to see their wicked plots thwarted; and they were!
c) He would have liked to see them frustrated and defeated; and they were!
d) He would have liked to see how God could intervene and deliver His own; and He did!
