CONTEMPLATION ABOUT THE FOOLISH WICKED

David met many people from all walks of life. He encountered many different people with a wide-ranging assortment of views about life and God. Perhaps the saddest view expressed may be found in the following text.

“The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’
They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity;
There is none who does good.”
Psalm 53:1

1. Those who reject God

Life always offers us choices. Even in the matter of religion, one is offered choices.

a) There will be some who would choose to believe in God (e.g. King David).
b) There will also be some who would reject any idea of the existence of God.

2. Observations of those who reject God

a) They are called “fools”.
i) This is not a reference to intellectual deficiency.
ii) This has to do with “moral foolishness”.
b) These reject God.
i) They declare “There is no God”.
ii) On what basis can anyone say, “There is no God?”

3. Three wicked activities noted among those who reject God

a) They are corrupt.
b) And have done abominable iniquity.
c) There is none who does good.

These observations describe what David saw in the lives of those who have rejected God.
