Psalm 132:1 "LORD, remember David and all his afflictions."

Day 331 – Psalm 132

“LORD, remember David and all his afflictions.” Psalm 132:1

THE EXAMPLE OF DAVID

In this Song of Ascents the psalmist focuses on the love that King David had for the Ark of the Covenant. Though Joshua had conquered Canaan and divided the land to all the tribes, after his death the Ark of the Lord was not taken care of properly. David’s concern for the Ark of the Lord was held up as an example for Israel.

“LORD, remember David and all his afflictions;
How he swore to the LORD, and vowed to the
Mighty One of Jacob:
‘Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house,
Or go up to the comfort of my bed;
I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,
Until I find a place for the LORD,
A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.'”
Psalm 132:1-5
