Day 253 – Psalm 115

“The LORD has been mindful of us…” Psalm 115:12a

ASSURANCE OF GOD’S BLESSINGS

Trust in God was not just a whimsical feeling for the psalmist. He wrote with deep conviction and assurance that God would indeed bless His people.

“The LORD has been mindful of us;
He will bless us;
He will bless the house of Israel;
He will bless the house of Aaron.
He will bless those who fear the LORD,
Both small and great.”
Psalm 115:12-13

1. “The LORD has been mindful of us”

a) This was a reality.
b) God had always been mindful of His people.

2. The three groups of people singled out for mention (again)

a) The house of Israel (that is, the nation)
b) The house of Aaron (The priests)
c) Those who fear the Lord.

3. “He will bless”

a) This was repeated four times in two short verses.
b) Its significance must not be lost.
i) It expresses the deep trust of the psalmist.
ii) It expresses his great confidence in God.

4. “Both small and great”

a) A contrast was used.
b) The contrast between the great and the small highlights great assurance that God would bless all His people. No one would be left out in God’s blessings.
