Psalm 109:30a "I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth..."

Day 229 – Psalm 109

“I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth…” Psalm 109:30a

A FITTING CONCLUSION

David ended this imprecatory psalm on a note of praise. This conclusion further verifies the fact that this prayer was not offered with a vindictive spirit.

“I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth;
Yes, I will praise Him among the multitude.
For He shall stand at the right hand of the poor,
To save him from those who condemn him.”
Psalm 109:30-31

1. “I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth”

a) Praising God should arise naturally.
b) Praise should also be something one determines to do.

2. “Yes, I will praise Him among the multitude”

a) There is strong resolution evidenced here.
b) Praising God publicly is in view.

3. Reasons for this strong determination

a) “For He shall stand at the right hand of the poor”
i) God will always be at the right hand of the righteous poor and needy.
ii) He will stand in their corner as their Advocate.
b) “To save him from those who condemn him”
i) The wicked will seek to condemn the poor and the needy (the weak).
ii) But they had reckoned without God.
iii) God would send deliverance and He will save the righteous from the devices of the wicked.
c) We have every reason not to fret and despair.
i) We have a great God who will hear and answer prayer.
ii) We have a wonderfully powerful God who will deliver His people out of their distresses, when they turn to Him in prayer!
