“Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people…” Psalm 107:32a

PUBLIC WORSHIP

After such great acts of mercy, how should the heart respond? The psalmist suggested that God’s name should be exalted in public worship, no less!

“Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people,
And praise Him in the company of the elders.”
Psalm 107:32

1. “Let them exalt Him”

a) The word “them”
This would be a reference to ALL who have ever experienced Divine deliverance.

ii) Those who experienced hunger (Psalm 107:9).
iii) Those who sat in darkness (Psalm 107:10).
iv) Those who were saved from distress (Psalm 107:13).
v) Those who were released from chains (Psalm 107:14).
vi) Those who were trapped behind bronzed gates (Psalm 107:16).
vii) Those who were healed (Psalm 107:20).
viii) Those who were redeemed from destruction (Psalm 107:20b).
ix) Those who survived storms (Psalm 107:25-30).
b) “Also”
i) They may have already offered sacrifices of thanksgiving on a personal basis.
ii) The call is to also add public worship to their response.
c) God’s name should be greatly exalted by the testimonies of those who have experienced God’s goodness and mercy.

2. “And praise Him in the company of the elders”

a) The elders could be the leaders in the community.
b) They should be part of the public worship where God’s name is exalted and extolled.
