The Word Of God Given
Text: John 17: 14
THE WORD OF GOD GIVEN
One of the most precious gifts God can give is truly His word. This was very much the focus of Jesus when He came to earth to minister.
“I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.”
John 17:14
1. “I have given them Your word”
a. Jesus lived by the word of God.
i. He exemplified it (Matthew 4:4).
ii. He cited it.
iii. He knew God’s command concerning His word.
iv. Man is to live by the Word of God and not just by bread alone.
b. Jesus taught the Word of God faithfully:
i. To the multitudes.
ii. The word of God was central in His preaching and teaching ministry.
iii. His healing and casting out of demons did not eclipse the place of God’s word in ministry.
c. He had especially taught His Disciples God’s word:
i. In His parables.
ii. In His explanation of the parables (Matthew 13).
iii. In His encounters with the scribes and Pharisees.
2. “And the world has hated them”
a. The enemies of Jesus also hated His Disciples.
b. They found fault with them.
c. But they were specially kept by Jesus and thus they were not harmed.
3. “Because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world”
a. The world is in opposition to the Lord Jesus.
b. It rejects God and His Word.
c. It indulges in sin and worldliness.
d. The Disciples had followed Jesus and thus they too were not of the world.
e. The hatred of the Disciples would become worse with the passing of time.

上帝所赐的道
上帝给予我们其中一个最宝贵的恩赐莫过于祂的道。当耶稣到世上时，上帝宝贵的道是耶稣极为关注的。
“我已将你的道赐给他们，世界又恨他们，因为他们不属世界，正如我不属世界一样。”
