No One Lost With One Exception
Text: John 17: 12
NO ONE LOST WITH ONE EXCEPTION
It takes a lot of work to keep a person safe from the world and the Evil One. Jesus was able to openly declare that He had kept all the Disciples except for Judas.
“While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept;and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.”
John 17:12
1. “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name”
a. This explains how Jesus kept His Disciples.
i. He taught them.
ii. He prayed for them.
iii. He befriended them.
iv. He loved them.
b. In God’s name
i. Trusting in God’s power.
ii. Consciously guarding them from sin, the world and Satan.
2. “Those whom You gave Me I have kept”
a. The Disciples.
b. All who had truly believed in Jesus.
c. Each one had been carefully kept and protected by the Lord Jesus.
3. “And none of them is lost”
a. The Disciples may have fumbled and stumbled but they were not lost.
b. They may have been weak and had doubts, but they remained with Him.
c. They may have made mistakes and were not courageous but they loved Jesus.
4. “Except the son of perdition”
a. The word “perdition” means “destruction”.
b. Judas was headed for destruction:
i. He stole.
ii. He betrayed Jesus.
iii. He allowed the Devil to enter into his heart.
iv. The destruction was of his own making!

其中一个除外，没有一个灭亡的
保守一个人远离世间和那恶者的影响需要极大的努力。耶稣能够公开宣称除了犹大以外，祂保守了所有的门徒。
