The Sayings Of Jesus
Text: Matthew 7:24-27
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”Matthew 7:24-27
THE SAYINGS OF JESUS
1. These are the words Jesus taught.
2. Matthew 5-7 form an important set of instructions that would help a believer lay a strong foundation for his house of faith.
RESPONDING TO THE WORDS OF JESUS
1. Hearing (or reading)
a. To hear well.
b. To recognise the wisdom and authority of the teachings of Jesus.
2. Doing
a. To put the lessons learned into action.
b. This is to be done all the time.
3. The actions taken
a. This will form the foundations of the house of faith we are building.
b. The building of a strong and solid foundation will enable the house to weather any storm.
TWO MEN COMPARED
1. The wise man
a. He hears the teachings of Jesus.
b. He decides to put into practice the things he has heard.
2. The foolish man
a. He also hears the teachings of Jesus.
b. But he does not put into action anything he has learned.
c. Great would be his loss when his house collapses.

“所以凡听见我这话就去行的，好比一个聪明人，把房子盖在磐石上。
雨淋，水冲，风吹，撞着那房子，房子总不倒塌；因为根基立在磐石上。
凡听见我这话不去行的，好比一个无知的人，把房子盖在沙土上。
雨淋，水冲，风吹，撞着那房子，房子就倒塌了；并且倒塌得很大。 ”《马太福音 7:24-27》
