Text: Luke 9: 21-22

THE LORD JESUS AS THE CHRIST OF GOD

1. The Disciples were strictly instructed.

a. Not to make this truth known widely.

“And He strictly warned and commanded them to tell this to no one…”
Luke 9:21

b. There were reasons why this instruction was given.

i. The Disciples were not strong in their faith yet.

ii. They were still not sufficiently instructed in Doctrine.

FORETELLING OF SUFFERING AND DEATH

1. The Teachings of the Lord Jesus had emphasised the following:

a. The Kingdom of God Luke 4

b. Faith in the Lord Jesus Luke 7

c. The lifestyle of a true believer Luke 6

2. A New additional teaching:

a. The Lord Jesus began to speak of His personal suffering.

“The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes…”
Luke 9:22a

i. Suffering will be acute and intense.

ii. Rejection by the religious leaders of the land.

b. He foretells His death.

“And be killed…”
Luke 9:22b

i. This would be actual death.

ii. The Lord Jesus would actually be killed!

c. He also speaks with confidence in His resurrection.

“And be raised the third day.”
Luke 9:22b

i. God the Father would exercise His power.

ii. The Lord Jesus would be raised from the dead.

iii. This was a certainty.

1. 严格的教导门徒

预言苦难和死亡

c. 真正信徒的生活方式 《路加福音 6》

2. 新增的教导：

a. 主耶稣开始谈到祂个人的苦难

又说：“人子必须受许多的苦，被长老、祭司长和文士弃绝，”《路加福音 9:22a》

i. 痛苦将是剧烈而强烈的

ii. 被当地的宗教领袖拒绝

b. 祂预言祂的死

“并且被杀…”《路加福音 9:22b》

i. 这将是真正的死亡

ii. 主耶稣真的会被杀！

c. 祂也对祂的复活充满信心

“第三日复活。”《路加福音 9:22b》

i. 上帝会运用祂的大能

ii. 主耶稣将从死里复活

iii. 这是肯定的
